Mobility Data Space
200+ members exchange traffic, vehicle and transit data under shared rules, with providers keeping control of who uses their data. SME cases built on it include DeepVolt (AI siting of EV chargers), highQ (multimodal MobilitySuite) and Mobias (connected-vehicle road-safety warnings).
Finnish Maritime Data Space
Led by Fintraffic: ships, ports, trucking and customs share real-time arrival, berth and cargo data so vessels avoid waiting and ports plan resources. It grew out of the Port Activity pilot — originally a tool for exchanging real-time information between two ports — which expanded to 20+ ports and 200+ organisations and became a de facto national standard before informing the formal data-space project.
Derived data instead of raw data
A mobility company may ask a city for street-level video to train a model. Raw footage contains identifiable people and is hard to share, and anonymisation is harder than expected. Vehicle counts, pedestrian flows and traffic patterns often answer the same question and are far easier to release.
Vegsat
Combines satellite Earth observation with field video to estimate yields, monitor growth and detect disease stress early.
KokoForest
Measures forest biodiversity from satellite data, replacing costly and infrequent field surveys for forest owners, municipalities and investors.

Pictue
Site photos are auto-enriched with location, time and project metadata on a map view — shared, up-to-date documentation for contractors, managers and clients.
Public-building energy data partnerships
Energy-consumption data from public buildings, shared within a partner network rather than published openly, can support monitoring and optimisation services that benefit both the building operator and the service provider.
ITA Nordic
Collects data across the whole production chain for faster quality responses, and shares product carbon-footprint data with customers via EcoVadis for EU supply-chain reporting.
Catena-X
End-to-end data sharing across the car value chain: traceability, quality, product carbon footprint. Documented wins include quality issues found 4 months earlier, a 1.4M-vehicle recall narrowed to 14 vehicles, a 46% carbon-footprint cut with real data and 15% energy savings. A 2026 Data Space Accelerator offers up to €30,000 of onboarding support for SMEs.
Smart Connected Supplier Network (SCSN)
Around 300 manufacturers exchange orders, confirmations, shipping notices and invoices between ERP systems via shared standards. One member automated purchasing data entry and targets 85% of order lines via the network.
Global Data Service Organisation (GDSO)
RFID-based tyre identification and lifecycle data across roughly 70% of the global tyre market. Inventory accuracy rose from 63% to 95%+ and recalls were limited to affected batches. SME beneficiaries include Allopneus (retailer piloting RFID traceability) and CIPAM (tech provider building tools on the standard).
SIX Mobile Machines Pilot
Competing manufacturers and fleet operators shared anonymised machine-performance data via a neutral platform, enabling earlier failure prediction, smarter maintenance and less downtime. One of Finland's first data-space-like industrial pilots.
Steelbridge
The platform maps connected-device data flows against Data Act Articles 3–6, finds compliance gaps and auto-generates documentation. End users decide what is shared, with whom and for how long.
SavannaX (SwanIT)
Predicts IT-device lifecycles from device-health data instead of fixed replacement cycles. Customers — and their partners, at the customer's choice — can build new business on that data.
Webropol
Collects experience and opinion data directly from people via email, web, mobile and QR, turning responses into decision-ready analytics — the human-data complement to sensor and system data.
Zipli
An app that matches surplus food from restaurants and stores with charity recipients, so supply meets demand — with automatic recommendations to cut waste further.

Connects universities, training providers, employers and learners with anonymised skills data to match skills with jobs across Europe. Finnish participant: Headai.
City of Turku Digital Twin
Combines building registers, infrastructure, land-use and 3D city models into a shared spatial framework, opening the data via platforms so companies can build services on it.
Helsinki Region Infoshare (HRI)

Companies have used Helsinki's maritime environment to test electric boats, autonomous vessels, smart ticketing and sensor-based services, combining technology development with real operational data and user feedback.
City road maintenance data flow
When a resident reports a pothole through a city app, the report flows straight into the systems of the contractor responsible for that area. The contractor gets better information, the city gets faster repairs.
European Cycle Data Space

European Health Data Space (EHDS)
The EHDS Regulation entered into force in March 2025, with major secondary-use obligations expected from March 2029. Access will run through data-access applications, Health Data Access Bodies and secure processing environments rather than downloads.
